Newlands East Karateka’s represent South Africa at World Championships in Portugal

The Association Of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate South Africa ( AFSKSA ) will be participating in the Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association World Championships. This championship will boast competitors from over 20 FSKA affiliated countries around the world. It would be held in Almada – Portugal from 25 – 28 October 2018.

Kyoshi Selvan Govender (7^th Dan) President and Chief Instructor of the association and Sensei Aldin Govender (5^th Dan) are resident instructors for the above association in the Newlands East area. We have five of our students from the Newlands East area selected to represent the Association Of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate South Africa’s National Team at the FSKA World Tournament. They are Tiayre King , Na’eem Moola , Josiah Terrmaine Oliver , Lyle Abrahams and Taye Sahadev.

These five students together with the balance of the team travelling to Portugal are currently in training and will be put through an intense training programme at its main dojo the Getfit Fitness Centre in Westville ahead of the world tournament.
